King’s College London
Das King’s College London ist das älteste College der University of London und eine der angesehensten Hochschuleinrichtungen Englands. Es wurde 1829 gegründet und erhielt seinen Namen nach der Schirmherrschaft König Georgs IV. Das College rangiert traditionell auf vorderen Positionen in nationalen und internationalen Vergleichen. Im Ranking der besten britischen Hochschulen laut Times Good University Guide von 2010 steht das King's College auf Platz 12. Besonderes Ansehen genießen die Geistes-, Sozial- und Humanwissenschaftlichen Fakultäten (History, Politics, Philosophy, Management, Classics, Law).[1] 2009 belegte das King's College London im jährlich erscheinenden Hochschulranking des Higher Education Supplement der THES den 23. Platz in der Welt.[2]
CampusKing’s College wurde in der Nähe des Somerset House in Strand (London) gegründet, der Campus ist heute noch in Gebrauch und um das ursprüngliche Gebäude herum aufgebaut. Die Universität ist seitdem um mehrere Campus gewachsen, so Guy’s campus nahe London Bridge; St. Thomas’ campus gegenüber der Houses of Parliament; Waterloo Campus; Hampstead Halls Campus, und Denmark Hill Campus im Süden Londons.
